Cartoon 69
Hentai Reviewer’s Grade: C+
For those of you who know the difference between hentai and adult cartoons, you may have noticed that my site features almost exclusively hentai. Thus the “Hentai” in Hentai Reviewer! The reason for this is although I do enjoy many cartoons (commonly called “Western cartoons”) from artists who don’t work in the general Japanese style of anime, I’m mainly a big fan of the stuff that comes straight out of Japan.
Cartoon 69 is one site that breaks the mold, mixing both Eastern and Western toons with what I believe are varying results. And when I say mixing, I do mean mixing. Not only does Cartoon 69 have authentic born-and-bred in Japan anime as well as Western toons that almost look like they could have been clipped from the Sunday paper were it not for thier extremely hardcore uncensored nature, Cartoon 69 also has a lot of pictures that are obviously Western artists attempting to pull of the Eastern style, and without much success. Maybe you’ll like this new pseudo-hybrid of cross-cultural contamination, but to me it just doesn’t feel right. Sometimes its pulled off better than others, but overall I like the content they have at either end of the spectrum much better.
In a sense, Cartoon 69′s weakness in having this extremely varied content is also its strength. This site is probably a goldmine for those who like Eastern and Western art equally, and are looking for a smorgasbord sampler instead of a site that digs deeper with a more narrow focus. If you’re new to cartoon porn and all this talk of the difference between “hentai anime” and “adult cartoons” or “Eastern” and “Western” is new to you, maybe Cartoon 69 will be just the thing you need to expose yourself to a lot of different types of toons and find out what you like. But for seasoned hentai lovers who are in search of gigs of fresh unseen hentai anime and hentai anime alone, this site is not one to stick with, and thus earns the lowest grade I’ve given yet.
